It applies to everyone who uses the Platform, including individuals who create model profiles (“Models”) and the brands, agencies, photographers, and event organizers who use it to discover and contact Models (“Clients”).

2. Information we collect
Information you provide
When you create an account or build a profile, you provide information directly. The exact fields depend on whether you are a Model or a Client.
- Account and contact details
- Name, email address, phone number, and physical location information (such as city, state, ZIP/postal code, and country).
- Model profile information
- Date of birth (used to confirm you are at least 18), physical attributes you choose to list (such as body type, ethnicity, measurements, and the comfort level you set for the type of work you accept), languages, experience, rates, work preferences, model categories, social media handles, and photographs and video you upload.
- Biometric and AI-derived data (with consent)
- For Models who provide the separate consent described in Section 6, data derived from your photographs, video, and audio — including biometric identifiers such as a facial geometry template, and voice and likeness characteristics — used to train AI systems and create derivative or synthetic media.
- Client profile information
- Company or organization name, role, project and event details, budget, timing, location, website, and social media handles.
- Communications
- Messages and inquiries you send through the Platform, and correspondence with our support team.
- Payment information
- When you subscribe or purchase a paid feature, payment is processed by our payment providers (Stripe and PayPal). We do not store full card numbers; we keep a customer or subscription reference and limited billing metadata returned by the provider.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Platform, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type and user-agent string, device and operating system information, pages viewed and actions taken, referring pages, and approximate location derived from your IP address. We use cookies and similar technologies, including a session-replay tool that records on-page interactions (such as clicks, scrolling, and navigation) to help us understand and improve the experience. See our Cookie Policy for detail.
Information from third parties
Some accounts are created through a third-party signup partner that passes registration details to us over a secured connection. Our payment providers return transaction and subscription status to us. We do not buy personal information from data brokers.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Create and operate your account and, for Models, publish your profile so Clients can find and contact you;
- Enable Clients to search, view, and reach out to Models — this visibility is the core function of the Platform;
- Process subscriptions, payments, boosts, and other paid features;
- Send transactional messages (account, billing, security, and service notices) and, where permitted, lifecycle and marketing communications you can opt out of;
- Measure, analyze, and improve the Platform, including performance and feature usage;
- Protect the Platform, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Use;
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
4. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal information on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Platform and the account you requested); legitimate interests (to secure, analyze, and improve the Platform and to communicate about it, balanced against your rights); consent (for non-essential cookies and certain marketing, which you can withdraw at any time); and legal obligation (to meet our legal and regulatory duties). Where we process biometric data, which is special-category data, we rely on your explicit consent given through the separately-signed consent described in Section 6, which you may withdraw at any time.
5. How we share information
With other users of the Platform
Model profiles are designed to be discoverable. Information you add to a Model profile — including your name or stage name, location, attributes, and photographs — is visible to Clients and may be visible publicly on the Platform and indexed by search engines. Do not put anything in your profile that you do not want to be public. Messages you send are shared with their intended recipient.
With service providers (sub-processors)
We share information with vendors that perform services for us under contract. They may process personal information only on our instructions and for the purposes below.
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication, and account storage |
| Cloudflare (R2) | Storage and delivery of uploaded photos and video |
| Vercel | Application hosting and content delivery |
| Stripe | Payment processing (primary) |
| PayPal | Payment processing (alternative) |
| SendGrid (Twilio) | Transactional email delivery |
| Loops | Lifecycle and marketing email |
| Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, Ads) | Analytics, measurement, and advertising |
| Microsoft Clarity | Product analytics and session replay |
| Telegram | Internal operational alerts to our team |
| Atlassian (Jira) | Handling feedback and support reports |

This list reflects our providers as of the effective date and may change as we add or replace vendors. We will update this Policy when material changes occur.
For legal and safety reasons
We may disclose information when we believe in good faith it is necessary to comply with law or legal process, to enforce our terms, to detect or prevent fraud or security issues, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, or BookModels.
Business transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
6. Photos, uploaded content, and biometric / AI processing
Photographs and video you upload are stored, resized into display variants, and shown on the Platform. The Platform does not host or publicly display sexually explicit or adult content.
For Models who provide the separate consent described below, BookModels may also process uploaded content to develop and operate artificial-intelligence and machine-learning products. This can include extracting biometric identifiers (such as a facial geometry template) and modeling voice and likeness characteristics, and using that data to train AI systems and to create derivative and synthetic media (for example, edited, stylized, composited, or AI-generated images, video, audio, or avatars). Where this processing occurs it is governed by the Model Participation and Content License Agreement, including its separately-signed AI, Biometric & Synthetic Media consent.
Biometric information notice
Where BookModels collects or uses biometric identifiers or biometric information, it does so only after providing notice and obtaining the Model’s written consent through that separately-signed consent. BookModels does not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from a person’s biometric identifiers or biometric information. We retain biometric identifiers only as long as needed for the purpose for which they were collected and, in any event, no longer than three years after the Model’s last interaction with us, after which they are permanently destroyed in accordance with our written retention and destruction schedule. Trained models, aggregated datasets, and derivative or synthetic outputs already created may persist as described in that Agreement.
Your control over AI and biometric processing
This AI and biometric processing is optional. If you are in the EEA, the United Kingdom, or Illinois, it occurs only if you opt in, and you may withdraw consent at any time; withdrawing stops future processing and triggers destruction of biometric identifiers on the schedule above, although it does not by itself reverse outputs or trained systems already created. Declining or withdrawing this consent does not prevent you from using the marketplace; it only removes you from AI and biometric processing. To opt out or withdraw, contact privacy@bookmodels.com.
Content you submit, and the rights you grant in it, are governed by the applicable signed agreement — the Model Participation and Content License Agreement for Models, and the Client Access and Platform Use Agreement for Clients — which control over any summary here. Because copies and derivatives may be distributed and retained, removing content from your profile may not remove every copy already shared. Do not upload content unless you hold all necessary rights, releases, and consents, and every person depicted is at least 18.
7. Cookies and tracking
We use strictly necessary cookies to run the Platform (for example, to keep you signed in) and, subject to your consent where required, functional, analytics, and advertising cookies and similar technologies. You can manage your choices through our consent controls and your browser settings. Full detail, including the specific technologies and how to change your choices, is in our Cookie Policy.
8. Advertising and “sharing”
We use advertising and measurement technologies (including Google Ads and related tags) that may disclose certain identifiers and activity to advertising partners to measure and improve campaigns. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, this activity may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. You can opt out of this sharing as described in Your privacy rights, and we honor recognized opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control where required.
9. International transfers
We are based in the United States and store and process information there. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from yours. Where we transfer personal information out of the EEA or the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum, or another lawful transfer mechanism.
10. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to provide the Platform. Because the Platform records activity over time and supports dispute resolution, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal compliance, we may retain information, including in backups and in deactivated (“soft-deleted”) form, after an account is closed. We retain information no longer than necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law, and we delete or de-identify information in response to a valid request where we are required to do so, subject to the legal and operational exceptions described in the next section.
11. Your privacy rights
EEA and UK residents
Subject to conditions and exceptions in applicable law, you have the right to access your personal information; to correct it; to request erasure; to restrict or object to certain processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
Subject to conditions and exceptions, you have the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of recipients; to request deletion; to correct inaccurate information; to opt out of the “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising; and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Other U.S. states
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and others) have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising. We extend these rights to eligible residents as those laws require.
How to exercise your rights
To make a request, email privacy@bookmodels.com or use our contact page. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows.
12. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Children
The Platform is intended only for individuals who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create an account or appear in a Model profile, and we collect date of birth to enforce this. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will take steps to remove it. If you believe a minor has provided information to us, contact us at privacy@bookmodels.com.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Platform after an update means you acknowledge the revised Policy.
