The Company

From a single platform to a working ecosystem

BookModels began as a simple booking platform in 2016. Nine years later it is the largest inclusive modeling marketplace in the US, and the foundation for a broader set of services built around the working life of a model.

History

Built by a frustrated marketing pro

BookModels was founded in 2016 by Carver, a marketing executive who needed to book a roster of amateur models for a national social media campaign and ran into a wall. Agencies wouldn't return calls, the few online directories were full of fake or outdated profiles, and the talent that did surface either priced out of range or flaked on bookings. Carver had spent his career running marketing teams at technology companies and saw the obvious gap: there was no straightforward way for working marketing professionals to book real, verified amateur talent at scale, in any city, without an agent in the middle.

Over the next nine years the platform grew from that initial frustration into the largest direct booking marketplace for amateur and professional modeling in the US. Forty thousand models, 90+ cities, over a hundred categories of work, from trade show staffing to editorial fashion to brand activation. The founding principle stayed constant: anyone can be a model, anyone can book a model, and the platform takes no commission on the booking.

In 2025 BookModels was acquired by Model Traffic, the operating company that runs the platform today. Model Traffic is a sister company to Pixel Profits, a long time partner in the digital media space. The acquisition keeps the platform's original mission intact while expanding its scope: BookModels remains a free direct booking marketplace for models and clients, and Model Traffic is building out a wider set of value added services around it. Training resources, financial tools, content monetization options, and professional development paths, designed for models who treat the work as a serious part of their career rather than a side project.

What We Do

A platform, not an agency

BookModels is a marketplace. Models build a profile, set their rates, and list their work. Clients search by city, category, availability, and a dozen other filters, shortlist talent, and message directly. The booking, the rate, and the working relationship are between the two parties. The platform doesn't take a cut.

That model serves a wide range of work. Trade show booth staffing in Las Vegas, editorial shoots in New York, brand activations across regional markets, music festival ambassadors, car show talent, photoshoot castings for everything from catalog to campaign. Where traditional agencies focus on a narrow slice of premium fashion and editorial work in two or three cities, BookModels covers the rest of the industry: the working talent and working clients that make up the majority of model bookings happening in the US every week.

Beyond the booking marketplace, the platform now includes a substantial content library, with hundreds of articles for both models and clients, plus a growing set of services for models building careers around their work. The vision is for BookModels to be the platform a model uses across the arc of their career, not just a place where they get bookings.

Philosophy

Models can change people, because they are people

The traditional agency model was built around scarcity: a small roster of approved talent, exclusive contracts, geographic concentration, gatekept access. That structure made sense in the era it was designed for, when modeling work was primarily editorial fashion produced by a handful of companies in a handful of cities.

That era is over. Marketing today happens everywhere, in every format, at every scale. Models work for brand teams, photographers, event production companies, advertising agencies, and for themselves. The talent pool that meets that demand has to be open, verified, geographically distributed, and stylistically diverse. That's the platform we built and the platform we keep building.

Inclusivity isn't a positioning statement, it's the operating model. Models of every background, body type, age, and experience level work through the platform. Clients of every size, from solo photographers shooting tests to brand teams staffing CES booths, book through it. The platform is open by default. The only requirements are real identity, age verification, and good faith conduct toward the people on the other side of the conversation.
